How to Upload Real Estate Videos to HAR / MLS
A Quick Guide for Agents and Photographers
Uploading property videos to MLS can be confusing, especially with the different rules for branded and unbranded content. This guide explains how to properly add video links to listings on HAR (Houston Association of Realtors) and most Texas MLS platforms.
Use the Correct Type of Video Link
MLS rules only allow unbranded videos to be attached directly to listings.
Unbranded videos cannot contain:
Agent names
Phone numbers
Logos
Company branding
Watermarks or personal contact info
Any video containing these elements should be used only for marketing outside MLS.
Where to Upload in HAR
In the listing input section, locate the Virtual Tour URL field.
Paste the unbranded video link here.
This link will display as a clickable virtual tour on HAR and on most syndicated platforms.
Note: Do not use the “YouTube Video” field for property listing videos. That field is typically for agent profile videos or personal promotions.
Platforms That Work
HAR accepts links from YouTube, Vimeo, or direct video hosting platforms.
Ensure the link uses HTTPS (secure) formatting.
The link should go directly to the individual video, not to a full channel, playlist, or homepage.
How Branded Videos Can Be Used
Branded versions are not allowed inside MLS, but can be used freely for:
Social media posts
Agent websites
Open house promotions
Client marketing materials
Brokerage advertising
Common Compliance Reminders
Make sure unbranded links are truly unbranded — even a watermark can result in compliance issues.
Verify the video loads properly on both desktop and mobile before submitting.
Some MLS systems may review links periodically for compliance.
If Unsure, Ask MLS Support
If there is ever any doubt, agents should check directly with their MLS compliance department to avoid any listing violations.
